Akram Razzouk, M.D.

Dr. Razzouk is the founder and Medical Director of Salt Creek Therapy Center and Medical Director of Mental Health Services at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.  He has been the Teaching Chief of Psychiatry for Hinsdale Family Practice Residency since 1982.He completed Medical School and Psychiatry Residency at Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, California.

Dr. Razzouk is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  He is also a Life Member of the American College of Physicians Executives (ACPE) since 1987. His areas of interest include Adult Psychiatry and Gero—Psychiatry, Electro-Convulsive Therapy, Administrative Medicine and Academic Psychiatry.

Dr. Razzouk has medical staff privileges at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital. He has been Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital for over 10 years and currently serves on the Governing Board of Adventist Midwest Health. Dr. Razzouk has been a frequent contributor of Mental Health Articles in local community newspapers. Dr. Razzouk also published in the DePaul University Journal of Law an article regarding Post Traumatic Stress in the Military.

Paragini Chandarana, M.D.

Paragini   Chandarana, M.D. joins Salt Creek Therapy Center after years of successful private practice at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Joliet, IL.,  while also being on the Faculty Medical Staff of the Department of Psychiatry at Loyola University  Medical Center.  Following her medical training at Bombay University, Dr. Chandarana  went on to complete three residences:  Obstretics and Gynecology at K.E.M. Hospital in Bombay, Family Practice at La Grange Community Hospital and Psychiatry at Loyola University Medical Center.
Dr. Chandarana is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with experience on women and adolescent issues.  Her primary interest is in General and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Sanjeev Dwivedi, M.D.

Dr. Dwivedi comes to Salt Creek Therapy Center from the Institute of Personal Development where he has practiced since August of 2001. He completed his medical training at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College in 1990, then went into private practice doing general medicine. In July of 1999, Dr. Dwivedi entered a General Psychiatry residency at the Chicago Medical School. Following the completion of this residency, he obtained a fellowship in Child Psychiatry with the Institute for Juvenile Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Since completing his fellowship in Child Psychiatry, Dr. Dwivedi has practiced at the Institute for Personal Development in Morris, at North Central Behavioral Health in La Salle, and at the Dupage County Mental Health Department. His focus at Salt Creek Therapy Center is Child and Adolescent care.

Richard Alford, Ph.D.

Richard M. Alford, Ph.D. has over 30 years experience in providing Psychological and Neuropshychological services to school age children through older adults.
Dr. Alford’s practice style makes use of a comprehensive approach and collaboration with family, school and other professionals.  He specializes in treating mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, as well as behavior problems, ADHD, and Asperger’s disorder.  Dr. Alford is experienced in providing comprehensive evaluations and in the use of Neurofeedback techniques.  He received his Doctorate from Loyola University in Chicago and has completed Certified Post-Doctoral studies in Neuropsychology.

Judi A. McInerney, R.N., Psy.D.

A licensed clinical psychologist and a registered professional nurse. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago IL., with a specialization in Health Psychology, and has been practicing in the Chicago area since 1992. .
Dr. McInerney is specialized in the treatment of adults and adolescents. She is experienced with diagnostic psychological testing for a variety of circumstances, and has completed Level 1 training certificate in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

Cathryn Puskarich, Ph. D.

Dr. Puskarich is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who holds a Master’s and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.  She has been practicing in the area for over 20 years working with individuals, families, and groups using intervention strategies that emphasize personal strengths.

She has advanced training in a variety of treatment methods including cognitive behavioral (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches. Dr. Puskarich also has research and clinical experience in relaxation training and stress management. Her areas of expertise include the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, marital and relationship issues, divorce recovery, and adjustment to life stress.

Joshua Yeager, Psy.D

Dr. Yeager is a recent graduate of Midwestern University with a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology. His clinical training has centered in the field of neuropsychology and general therapy. He is currently completing his Postdoctoral Fellowship at Salt Creek Therapy Center and will be offering therapy and diagnostic services at both the Westmont and Naperville locations. Dr. Yeager completed his internship at New Connections Academy, which is an alternative day school for autistic children. He has also worked for a number of private practices doing therapy with a wide variety of populations including ADHD, brain injury, dementia, depression, anxiety, and a number of other disorders. In addition, Dr. Yeager has completed many neuropsychological and psychological diagnostic batteries. He has worked clinically with a wide Varity of medical disorders with examples including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disorder, various types of cancers, and chronic pain.
In Therapy, Dr. Yeager uses a variety of techniques which have been shown to be forms of effective treatment. He utilizes aspects of psychodynamic theory and cognitive-behavioral and behavioral interventions. He believes that truly listening to patients and their need is paramount to successful treatment and that the relationship between the patient and the therapist is the primary predictor of successful treatment.
Dr. Yeager looks forward to building a practice at Salt Creek Therapy Center and serving the mental health and neuropsychological needs of the patients in the community.

Karen Hoganson, M.S.W., L.C.S.W., R.N.

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience as a registered nurse in medical intensive care units. She earned her Masters of Social Work (MSW)from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has gained experience doing both inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy. Her areas of interest include family, adolescents, and group therapy as well as treatment of domestic violence cases.

Dr. Ney is a Professor in the Department of Behavioral Medicine at Midwestern University, Downers Grove, Illinois.  He is a well known speaker providing workshops and training seminars in child and adolescent behavior, developmental disabilities, marriage and family issues, team building and career planning.
Dr. Ney provides treatment for children, adolescents and adults.  His area of interest is family therapy for families with children diagnosed with developmental disorders.

Deborah L. Levinson, L.M.F.T.

Deborah is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapists with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida.  She  has worked with challenging children, adolescents, and their families since 1990.  Deborah has facilitated  family reunification,  taught parenting classes, facilitated adolescent  sexual abuse survivor groups and helped  heal victims of  sexual and physical abuse.
Deborah is sensitive to patients’ cultural and spiritual values.  Her areas of interest include depression, anxiety, co-dependency, marital therapy and survivors of abuse.  Deborah assists patients in moving from powerlessness to making choices that bring them fulfillment and happiness.

Richard Ney, Ph.D.

Dr. Ney is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago.  He has extensive experience in academics, hospital administration, clinical practice and managed health care.  He is a former Director of Inpatient Services at Chicago-Read Mental Health Center and former Chairman of the Department of Psychology at Lewis University, Romeoville, Illinois.
